FROM THE AIRPORT (LOCATED IN THE NORTH):
Drive south on Barlow Trail (the only road leading from the airport) until you reach the intersection of Barlow Trail and 32nd Ave NE. Turn left onto 32nd Ave NE, then left again into 26th Street NE and into the parking lot.

FROM THE SOUTH:
Drive north on Barlow Trail until you reach the intersection of Barlow Trail and 32nd  Ave NE. Turn right onto 32nd Ave NE, then left again onto 26th Street NE and into the parking lot.

FROM THE WEST:
The TransCanada Highway coming from the west turns into 16th Ave NE. Turn left (north) on the intersection of Barlow Trail and 16th Ave NE. Drive north on Barlow Trail until you reach the intersection of Barlow Trail and 32nd Ave NE. Turn right onto 32nd Ave NE, then left again onto 26th Street NE and into the parking lot.

FROM THE EAST:
The TransCanada Highway coming from the east turns into 16th Ave NE. Turn right (north) on the intersection of Barlow Trail and 16th Ave NE. Drive north on Barlow Trail until you reach the intersection of Barlow Trail and 32nd Ave NE. Turn right onto 32nd Ave NE, then left again onto 26th Street NE and into the parking lot.

We have reserved a block of 40 rooms available at the discounted rate of $149.00 Cdn. per night. All rooms are subject to a 5% room tax and 7% G.S.T.

Individual reservations must be made BY May 20, 2006 in order to ensure the discounted room rate. In addition, you MUST mention the group name “American Power Dispatchers Association” to ensure you receive the appropriate hotel rate and are included in the guestroom block. Any bookings after May 20, 2006 will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis. Please book early as the Sheraton Calgary Hotel normally sells out during weekdays!

Tuesday Technical Sessions

Tuesday's technical sessions are selected for their relevance and as referenced to the Electrical Grid System in Alberta. We believe we have informative agenda that will be of value to those interacting with AESO and Alberta. The AESO will provide accreditation to 3.0 NERC Continuing Educataion hours following attendance at the technical sessions (attendance will be taken).

Wednesday Golf

We will bus tot he Lynx Ridge Golf and Country Club. Cost is $75 and only 40 tee slots will be available to register early! Golf carts will be provided. For those who prefer to rent golf clubs (rather than bringing your own) may rent clubs from the Pro Shop. Tee off will begin at 12:30 pm sharp. A steak supper will be provided for the golfers following the event. Following the supper, a bus will provide transportation back to the hotel.

Airline Access to Calgary

Calgary is serviced by numerous airlines including Air Canada, Delta, NorthWest, WestJet, Continental, American, United and SouthWest Airlines. The Sheraton Calgary Hotel is a 5 minute commute from the Calgary International Airport. The Calgary Sheraton also has a shuttle bus available to and from the airport at nominal charge.

APDA Business Meeting (NorthWest and National): will be held at 08:00 - 10:30 Wednesday morning (This is restricted to APDA members only).

Access to Hospitality Room (Monday and Tuesday Evening: on the Hotel main floor down the hall from the front desk.
