Kelvin Ketchum from BCH Power Supply will go over the Columbia River Treaty and the latest updates involving Operating Agreements. The Treaty was set up to provide flood control and power to Canada and the US by regulating the flow of the water in the Columbia River.

By using slides and video, Dana Schmidt will describe the effects of upgrades and expansion projects on the
Kootenay and Columbia River.
1100 - 1200 Bob Ellis 7-Mile Dam Unit 4 Runner Transport
Bob Ellis is in charge of the installation of the fourth unit at BCH's 7-Mile DAM and will describe all the difficulties encountered in transporting and installing the runner.

1315 - 1430 Paul Chernikhowsky Aquila Transmission System Upgrades
Aquila's 60 KV Lines and switchyards are being replaced with a new 60/230kv system. Paul Chernikhowsky will give an overview of the upgrades and will explain the protection and control schemes of the new system.

1445 - 1630 Christopher Swain Columbia River Swim
Christopher Swain is the man who is swimming all 1,243 miles of the Columbia River-a historic first-to promote public awareness of the threats facing the Columbia River. He passed the 750 Mile mark on March 11, 2003 and plans to reach the Pacific Ocean in June 2003.

This course meanders through a hillside apple orchard overlooking Lake Okanagan. The Harvest boasts manicured bent grass tees, fairways and greens with an abundance of water hazards and bunkers.
Aquila Networks Canada
is excited to announce the agenda for the 2003 Fall APDA Meeting.
The meeting is to be held at the Kelowna Okanagan Lakefront Resort
on September 24 to the 26, 2003. This is a 5 Star Resort that
also includes a Caribbean Cruise Ship Theme Casino. Kelowna offers
fine shopping, wine tours, beaches and cultural events. Rooms
have been set aside for the APDA at a special rate of $169.00.

Note that all prices are quoted in Canadian Funds.
The cost of the APDA program will be $160 per member ($175
if registration is made after 8/15/02). This will include
the meeting facilities, fees, lunch and dinner. Golf is included
in this fee. An additional $60 per guest will be needed
for golf, and $35 per guest for dinner.
